Learning Support Assistant - 1:1 (Year 4)

A welcoming and well-managed mainstream primary school in Balham is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil starting in April.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with a pupil who requires additional support to access learning and manage their needs within the classroom. The school has a strong inclusion ethos and a supportive SEN team in place, providing clear guidance and structure for support staff.
The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted support, helping the pupil to engage with lessons, develop confidence, and make consistent progress.

The Role Will Involve:
Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with additional needs
Supporting access to the curriculum and adapting tasks where required
Implementing strategies to support behaviour and emotional regulation
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow support plans
Monitoring progress and providing feedback on pupil development
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have prior experience supporting children with special educational needs
Be patient, resilient, and consistent in their approach
Be confident working 1:1 and building strong relationships with pupils
Be proactive and able to use initiative within the classroom
Have a clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection proceduresThis role would suit someone with a passion for SEN who is looking to make a meaningful impact within a supportive mainstream setting.
