As the Jira Administrator, you will lead the direction, governance, and evolution of Jira and JSM.
You will modernise workflows, structures, automation, and processes, whilst reducing complexity, addressing technical debt, and creating long‑term scalability.
Whilst the role will be a standalone Outside IR35 position, you will work closely with teams to ensure Jira supports high‑quality service delivery.
There will be expectations to influence platform standards and ensure consistent, well‑designed configurations.
The role will be full-time, 5 days per week, and the expectation is that you will be on-site for 2 of those days at the Liverpool head office.
As the Jira subject-matter-expert, you will also have the following responsibilities:
Own and manage Jira and JSM platforms, ensuring stability, quality, and governance.
Redesign and optimise workflows, schemes, SLAs, portals, queues, and issue types, and build scalable automation using Automation and ScriptRunner.
Establish naming conventions, configuration standards, and guardrails.
Conduct platform reviews to identify inconsistencies and improvement areas.
Support integrations (REST API, webhooks, identity providers).
Troubleshoot platform issues and liaise with Atlassian support as needed.
Engage with stakeholders, translate requirements, and coach teams on best practice.
Ensure Jira and JSM workflows align with ITSM/service delivery principles.Profile
As the successful candidate for the Jira Administrator role, you will have the following experience:
Strong hands‑on Jira Cloud administration expertise.
Deep understanding of workflows, permissions, schemes, and JSM configuration.
Experience with complex automation design (ScriptRunner).
Proven ability to clean up or govern unstructured Jira environments.
Solid understanding of REST API integrations and identity provider setups (SSO/SCIM).
Excellent communication skills with the ability to challenge constructively.
Desirable: Experience with Atlassian ecosystem tools (Confluence, Opsgenie, Assets), migrations, or enterprise‑level environments.Job Offer

6 Month contract (Likely extensions).
