Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our client and work alongside the Head of Accounts. This is a hands‑on role requiring someone who is proactive, autonomous, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment. You will manage the day‑to‑day financial operations of the business, ensuring accurate recording of purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
Core Responsibilities

Record daily financial transactions and maintain the general ledger.

Reconcile bank statements and verify the accuracy of financial records.

Manage accounts payable and receivable, including issuing invoices and processing vendor payments.

Maintain organised financial documentation for compliance and auditing purposes.

Assist with multiple VAT returns.

Credit control.

General bookkeeping duties.
Candidate Profile

Minimum 3 years’ bookkeeping experience.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Confident communicator via phone and email.

Proficient in Excel and finance software (Profit 4 is used).

Proactive, organised, and collaborative, with the ability to work independently.
