About the role
As a Grounds Operative, you’ll be responsible for maintaining outdoor areas across our estates to a high standard. Working as part of our Estates team, you’ll help ensure our green spaces are tidy, safe, and enjoyable for residents.
This is a mobile role based mainly in the Bath area, so you’ll need to live within a reasonable commuting distance.
What you’ll be doing
Carrying out general grounds maintenance (grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding, leaf clearance)
Using and maintaining equipment such as mowers, hedge cutters, and blowers
Inspecting communal areas and reporting issues (e.g. damage, fly-tipping, safety concerns)
Ensuring tools and equipment are kept in safe working order
Following health and safety procedures at all times
Communicating politely with customers and responding to queries
Recording completed work using handheld devices
Supporting seasonal and emergency tasks when required
What we’re looking for
Experience in grounds maintenance or a similar outdoor role
Good physical fitness and ability to work in all weather conditions
Basic horticultural knowledge (weeding, planting, pruning)
Understanding of health and safety practices
Ability to work independently and manage your workload
Good communication and customer service skills
Basic literacy and numeracy skills
Full UK manual driving licence (required)
Desirable
Level 1 Horticulture qualification
PA1 & PA6 pesticide certificates
LANTRA training
Additional information
40 hours per week
Based around Bath (mobile role)
Shared van use (no individually assigned vehicle)
Subject to a basic DBS check
