We are looking for a driven and detail-focused Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team based in Manchester City Centre. Description
The key responsibilities of an Assistant Accountant will be:
Handle multi-currency accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, supplier record maintenance and payment runs
Generate customer invoices, allocate receipts across global accounts, and reconcile accounts receivable balances
Complete daily multi-currency bank reconciliations and assist with monitoring cash flow
Process international payments, fund transfers, and foreign exchange transactions
Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, and currency revaluations
Reconcile key balance sheet accounts such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, and intercompany balances
Support month-end close activities and assist with management reporting
Assist with VAT/GST and other international tax filings
Communicate with overseas teams, suppliers, and customers to resolve financial queries
Ensure adherence to financial controls and assist with internal and external audit requirements
Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to system enhancementsProfile
The successful Assistant Accountant will be:
Currently studying towards AAT or in the early stages of ACCA/CIMA.
Previous experience within a broader finance role
Strong numerical ability with good analytical thinking skills
Confident user of Excel and familiar with accounting systems
Experience with Oracle is advantageous but not required
High level of accuracy and strong organisational skills
Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and develop
