Accounts Assistant (12-month FTC)
Salary – £25K to £30K including benefits
Location – Yeovil
Hybrid –3 days office/ week plus flexible working hours
T2M Resourcing are recruiting an Accounts Assistant for a leading UK business based in the Southwest. This role is initially offered as a 12-month fixed term contract.
As Accounts Assistant, this role will focus on stock accounting and report directly to the Stock Accountant. You will play a vital part in safeguarding stock through the implementation and maintenance of strong internal controls, while also supporting efficient day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for managing both month-end and business-as-usual processes, ensuring accurate stock valuations and delivering clear, insightful reporting. In addition, you will support group reporting submissions, assist with audits, and contribute to forecasting activities.
As Accounts Assistant, your remit will include (but not be limited to) the following:

Ensure strong internal controls are followed to safeguard Stock whilst maintaining operational efficiency.

Processing of month-end and BAU stock team processes to ensure all accounting entries are complete and accurately reflect the Stock value across the business.

Interface with the commercial and operational teams, both in Head Office and on-site to assist with embedding stock management processes and behaviours.

Support the Stock Accountant with stock provisioning and other stock adjustments, ensuring accurate calculation and reporting.

Support with all Group submissions to ensure they are delivered accurately and on time with appropriate supporting information and commentary.

Support the Stock Accountant with the delivery of internal and external audit requirements.

Continuously update forecasting and budgeting comparatives in BAU and month end processes.

Preparing the balance sheet reconciliations each month ensuring this is accurate with adequate commentary.
To be successful in this Accounts Assistant role you will demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes:

Prior experience working within a stock environment preferred but not essential.

Ideally possess an accounting qualification or working towards.

Ability to prioritise showing effective time management when under pressure.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player with drive and self-motivation.

Flexible and adaptable with an eye for detail.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications particularly Excel with ability to manage volume data.

Experience of CODA GL and Oracle BI an advantage
