Applications are invited from postgraduate research students of the University. Accommodation and Catering ArrangementsFree accommodation is available during term time, the accommodation available is single occupancy only. Breakfast, lunch and evening meals are provided Monday to Friday during term time. DutiesSubwardens assist the Warden in the day-to-day running of the hall. This may involve pastoral, disciplinary and administrative duties, as well as being involved in social aspects of hall life. The successful applicant will be part of a team which provides out-of-hours emergency cover in a hall of 367 students and which helps to ensure the smooth running of the hall. Personal AttributesCandidates must display a high level of personal organisational ability, good administrative ability, leadership qualities and be sociable and a good team player. Subwardens are expected to demonstrate a commitment to the community spirit of the Hall and a willingness to engage with students and hall life in general. All applicants are required to find out more about the hall community as it forms an integral part of the selection process. The successful applicant must be available to attend Subwarden training sessions during mid-September and undertake first aid, mental health training, and fire safety training when the courses are available.
