Learning Support Assistant - Year 6 SATs (Clapham)
SANZA Teaching Agency is partnering with a welcoming primary school looking to appoint a motivated Learning Support Assistant to work with Year 6 pupils as they prepare for their SATs.
In this role, you will support the class teacher by delivering targeted interventions in Maths, Reading and SPaG, to build confidence and support students to perform to the best of their ability during SATs preparation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Bachelors graduate, aspiring teacher or HLTA, or experienced teaching assistant to gain experience leading interventions and gain valuable teaching experience. The school is supportive and staff work closely together to ensure students feel confident and well-prepared for their assessments.
Responsibilities
As a Teaching Assistant supporting Year 6 during SATs season, you will play a key role in helping students consolidate learning ahead of their SATs. You will be:
- Supporting the Year 6 teacher with preparation for SATs in Maths, Reading and SPaG
- Delivering small-group and individual intervention sessions to raise attainment
- Reinforcing essential literacy and numeracy skills
- Assisting with revision sessions and practice SATs papers
- Providing classroom support including managing behaviour and ensuring well-organised lessons
- Identifying key students who may require additional support and differentiating to meet individual needs
About You
- Experience in Learning Support, Tutoring for 11+ exams, or a strong academic record is advantageous
- Graduates considering a career in education and training are encouraged to apply
- Outstanding communication skills - you will need to be confident leading small groups on your own
- Must be easily commutable
- Understanding of safeguarding and professional conduct within schools
- Flexibility and willingness to work across different school environments
