A specialist school in Cheltenham is seeking a Classroom Assistant to join their team. In this role, you will help motivate and engage students, support their learning and emotional development, and nurture their confidence and love of learning. About the Role:
As a SEN Classroom Assistant, you will work closely with a small class of around 8 students. Your main responsibilities will include:
Preparing learning materials and supporting lesson planning
Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
Creating a positive, stimulating classroom environment
Supporting students to achieve their individual goalsThe school caters to both primary and secondary students with a range of complex needs, including learning difficulties, mental health challenges, attention deficit disorders, physical disabilities, and autism. The role may also involve personal care and behaviour support, and full training will be provided if needed.
What We're Looking For:
Experience supporting SEN children or adults (professional or voluntary experience is welcome)
Enthusiasm, patience, and a nurturing approach
Ability to engage, motivate, and encourage students
