We are currently recruiting experienced Healthcare Assistants to support a young adult with complex care needs within the community in Henfield, East Sussex.
This is a 2:1 care package, and you will be working as part of a dedicated team supporting an individual with significant physical disabilities and complex health needs. The role requires carers who are compassionate, patient, and confident supporting individuals with complex care requirements.
About the Role
The client is a gentle and pleasant young adult who enjoys interaction, music and sensory engagement. He is non-verbal and requires full support with daily living, mobility and communication.
You will be part of a team providing person-centred care to ensure the client remains comfortable, safe and supported throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities
• Supporting with PEG feeding and enteral feeding pump
• Assisting with suctioning when required
• Supporting with nebulisers and oxygen when needed
• Monitoring seizure activity and reporting concerns
• Full moving and handling support (2:1 care)
• Supporting with positioning and postural care
• Assisting with personal care and continence care
• Providing emotional reassurance and companionship
• Observing and responding to non-verbal communication cues
About You
We are looking for carers who are:
• Experienced in complex care or neurological conditions
• Comfortable supporting PEG feeding and suction awareness
• Patient, calm and attentive to client needs
• Confident working within a 2:1 care team
• Reliable and committed to delivering high-quality care
Experience supporting individuals with complex disabilities, epilepsy, or neurological conditions is highly desirable.
Environment
The client lives at home with family support in a friendly household environment. Please note there are dogs present in the home, so applicants must be comfortable around pets.
