Site Assistant / Minibus Driver We are seeking a proactive and reliable Site Assisatnt and Minibus driver to support the smooth running, maintenance and security of our school sites. This is a varied and hands-on role that combines site maintenance duties with driving the school minibus to transport students.
Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm
£24,378.00 - £25,983.00 Annually (Actual)
37 hours per week - Term time only + 2 weeks and 5 inset days
The successful candidate will help ensure the school environment is safe, well maintained and compliant with health and safety regulations, while supporting students through safe transport services.
Key Responsibilities
Site and Facilities Support
Assist with maintaining compliance with health and safety requirements, including records relating to:
Fire safety
Gas safety
Legionella management
Mechanical and electrical systems
Security and access control
Grounds maintenance
Cleaning and PPE
COSHH
Working at height
Manual handling and lone working
Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks within competence.
Keep corridors, stairwells and shared areas clear of rubbish and obstructions.
Maintain tidy and safe grounds, including clearing litter and leaves.
Assist with cleaning duties when required.Minibus Driving
Drive the school minibus to collect and return students before, during and after the school day.
Carry out vehicle checks and help maintain the condition of the minibus and other site vehicles.
Support daily transport arrangements across the local community.Site Security and Operations
Act as a key holder and respond to alarms or emergencies when required.
Operate and monitor security systems including CCTV, intruder and fire alarms.
Assist with fire drills, evacuations and lockdown procedures.
Carry out routine health and safety checks such as fire alarm tests, emergency lighting checks and legionella monitoring.General Duties
Support the organisation of school events and lettings outside normal hours when required.
Work flexibly to ensure site needs are met throughout the day and provide cover for colleagues when needed.
Maintain positive relationships with staff, students, parents and external partners.

Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of school life.Person Specification Experience
Experience working in a facilities, maintenance or similar environment.
Knowledge of health and safety relating to building maintenance.
Experience carrying out basic building maintenance tasks.Skills and Attributes

Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
