About the Role
We are currently working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Streatham seeking a Sports & Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in sports coaching, youth work, or behaviour mentoring who is passionate about supporting children both inside and outside of the classroom.
In this role, you will use sport and physical activity as a tool to engage pupils, helping them develop confidence, teamwork, and positive behaviour. You will work closely with pupils who may struggle with behaviour regulation, engagement, or social interaction, supporting them to succeed in a structured school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver or support sports activities, games, and structured physical sessions to promote engagement and teamwork
Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support for pupils who require additional guidance
Help pupils develop positive behaviour, resilience, and emotional regulation
Support pupils in the classroom to ensure they remain engaged with learning
Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and pastoral staff to implement behaviour strategies
Build strong, positive relationships with pupils who may find school challengingThe Ideal Candidate
Experience in sports coaching, PE support, mentoring, or youth work
Confident managing behaviour in a calm and positive way
Energetic, enthusiastic, and able to motivate young learners
Strong teamwork and communication skills
