The Company:
ER Recruitment are excited to be working with our client, who have a stunning 42-acre estate in the Leicestershire countryside, featuring manicured gardens and lawns, agricultural land, a lake and a golf course. They are now looking for an Assistant Groundsperson to join their small and friendly team, supporting the Estate Manager with the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the grounds to ensure the estate continues to look its very best all year round.
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days will be the same and where you will play an important part in maintaining a truly unique environment.
Role & Responsibilities of the Assistant Groundsperson:

Supporting the Estate Manager with the general upkeep of the estate grounds

Mowing, hedge cutting, strimming and general grounds maintenance

Assisting with the maintenance of the private nine-hole golf course

Planting trees, shrubs and seasonal planting across the estate

Supporting lake edge maintenance and wider estate projects

Operating gardening tools and grounds maintenance machinery safely and efficiently

Assisting with irrigation systems and lawn care

Helping maintain tools, machinery and work areas to a high standard

Working closely with the small estate team to ensure the grounds remain safe, tidy and visually appealing
About You as the Assistant Groundsperson:

Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, horticulture or similar

Experience using gardening tools and machinery would be beneficial

Someone who enjoys working outdoors in a physical, hands-on role

Takes pride in their work and enjoys seeing the results of their efforts

Reliable, proactive and willing to learn

Comfortable working as part of a small team

Able to respect the discretion required within a private residential environment
