Vacancy: Learning Support Assistant – Full Time (Term Time Only)

A rewarding opportunity has arisen for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a specialist primary school in the Winchester area. This is a full-time, permanent position supporting pupils with additional learning needs in a dedicated specialist setting.
The school supports children aged 4–11 years with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and a range of associated needs. Many pupils benefit from structured support to help develop their communication, emotional regulation, social skills and independence. Staff work together to provide a nurturing and structured learning environment where every child is supported to achieve their potential.
The school operates on a well-resourced specialist site, designed to meet the needs of pupils who require additional support in their learning and development.
The Role
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work alongside teaching staff to support pupils both in the classroom and around the school.
Responsibilities may include:
Supporting pupils with learning activities and classroom engagement
Providing individual or small group support
Helping pupils develop social skills, confidence and independence
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
Working closely with teachers and the wider support team
This role would suit someone who is patient, resilient and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
Training and Development
The school places strong emphasis on staff development and offers a range of training opportunities. Staff can access specialist SEND training and recognised courses such as PRICE (Protecting Rights in a Caring Environment) training, along with opportunities to gain certifications associated with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Salary
£14.20 per hour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
