We are looking for an experienced SMT Team Lead based in Frimley to manage a small team of specialised assembly technicians producing complex, high-value electronic products in small to medium volumes. These products are used in high-end automotive and motorsport applications, where quality and reliability are critical.
Key Responsibilities of a SMT Team Lead:

Lead and manage a team of 3 assembly technicians, setting goals and mentoring staff.

Run and programme pick-and-place machines (current line: ASM SX) and oversee additional equipment including 3D AOI, selective soldering, X-ray, and conformal coating machines.

Plan and allocate resources, schedule production, and ensure multiple projects are delivered on time and to specification.

Provide technical guidance, including DFM, DFA, and DFT inputs, and contribute to process FMEA.

Maintain manufacturing documentation to achieve full traceability and compliance with quality standards.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to support a zero-defect culture.
Requirements of an SMT Team Lead:

Proven experience in low-volume SMT assembly and high-value electronics manufacturing.

Comprehensive understanding of IPC Class 3 standards and industry regulations.

Strong people management skills, including mentoring and performance management.

Excellent attention to detail, time management, and process improvement skills.

Proficiency in PC applications and manufacturing documentation.
