Protocol Education are working with a specialist SEND school in Basildon that is looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to join their team from April 2026.
The school supports children and young people aged 3–19 with severe and complex learning difficulties, within a modern and well-resourced learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience supporting pupils with additional needs while working as part of a supportive and experienced staff team.
The Role
• Working in partnership with class teachers to support pupils’ learning and development
• Supporting pupils with their daily routines and individual learning activities
• Assisting with personal care where required, including toileting, dressing, feeding and mobility
• Helping to create a safe, structured and engaging learning environment
• Supporting pupils with a range of complex learning needs
What We’re Looking For
• A caring, patient and reliable individual
• Experience working with children or young people with additional needs is desirable
• This role would also suit someone looking to gain experience in an SEN classroom
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
Working Pattern
26.5 hours per week
Term time only (39 weeks per year)
Salary
£15,207 – £15,938 actual salary
(plus pension and additional benefits)
