Devon County Council is recruiting Children’s Social Workers to join the Exeter and East Children & Families Service in a service-wide duty support capacity.
This is a non–case holding role, focused on providing vital, responsive support across the service during periods of duty demand. You will play a key role in responding to immediate needs and ensuring teams receive timely, practical assistance to maintain high standards of practice and recording.
Key Responsibilities:

Providing service-wide duty support across Children & Families teams

Responding to immediate and priority tasks during duty periods

Producing clear, concise, and accurate records

Maintaining up-to-date case information and ensuring actions are completed promptly

Supporting teams to manage workload effectively during high-demand periods
You will be supported by a Duty Manager, who will coordinate weekly duty tasks and provide clear direction, guidance, and ongoing support.
About You:

Qualified Social Worker with experience in Children’s Services

Confident working in a fast-paced, solution-focused environment

Strong recording and organisational skills

Able to work collaboratively while managing competing priorities
