suena energy is a green tech startup specializing in algorithmic energy trading for energy storage systems and renewable energies.
Our vision: a world where clean energy is used reliably, economically, and intelligently. With our AI-based optimization and trading software, we maximize the revenues of operators of large-scale energy storage and renewable assets on short-term electricity and balancing markets – while simultaneously minimizing their risks.
We're a team of 45 people, combining a warm, supportive team culture with true startup drive. Following our successful Series A, we're expanding our team – and looking for an experienced People & Culture leader to scale our organization for the next growth phase.

- You are based in Hamburg and value being present on-site to actively shape culture and connect with people (hybrid work possible).
- You have hands-on experience in fast-paced startups/scale-ups and dynamic growth environments.
- You know how to build and develop culture and organizational structures from the ground up.
- You bring strong HR expertise across the entire employee lifecycle, with a focus on organizational and cultural development.
- Foster a strong, inclusive company culture by further developing existing initiatives and thoughtfully introducing new programs and rituals to ensure healthy, resilient growth
- Develop and improve HR policies and processes for clarity, consistency, and compliance across all locations
- Advise and support leaders and employees on all people topics, balancing labor law, compliance, and culture
- Oversee Talent Acquisition and ensure new hires are successfully onboarded, integrated, and set up for growth as our team doubles in size
- Support international expansion by adapting People & Culture strategies and ensuring our culture scales with us
- Manage payroll, benefits, and reward programs, ensuring compliance and employee well-being
- Monitor and analyze key HR metrics (e.g., turnover, engagement) to drive improvements
- You have several years' experience in a senior People & Culture or HR role, with proven success in a fast-growing, international environment.
- You bring a strong background in organizational development, business psychology, or a related field, and have the methodological skills to translate theory into practical, sustainable solutions.
- You have a track record in building and optimizing HR structures, policies, and people programs, and are confident across the entire employee lifecycle.
- You are passionate about culture work and team development; you love connecting people, spending time with the team, and actively shaping a positive environment.
- You are enthusiastic, approachable, and empathetic, with a clear view for the big picture, optimization potential, and a strong sense of ownership and initiative.
- You are analytical, structured, and hands-on; comfortable with HR metrics and driving improvements.
- You are fluent in English (German is a plus) and have excellent communication skills: you bring clarity, can address sensitive topics with care, and resolve conflicts constructively.
