Wolviston Management Services are currently supporting a growing engineering and fabrication business in Teesside with the appointment of a CAD Operative.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with basic CAD experience who is looking to develop their skills within a busy steel or fabrication environment. The role focuses on producing simple 2D drawings, supporting the wider engineering and production teams.
This position would suit someone who is detail-focused, methodical and keen to build experience within the steel or manufacturing sector.
The Role
As a CAD Operative, you will support the engineering and production teams by creating and replicating CAD drawings used for manufacturing processes.
Working closely with internal teams, you will ensure drawings are produced accurately and efficiently to support workshop operations.
Key Responsibilities
Produce and replicate 2D CAD drawings and flat patterns from existing designs or instructions
Convert existing drawings into CAD format for use within the manufacturing process
Ensure drawings are accurate, clear and production-ready
Support engineering and workshop teams with drawing updates and revisions
Maintain organised drawing records and documentation
Assist with general CAD-related tasks to support project and production requirements About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Basic experience using CAD software for 2D drawings
The ability to accurately replicate and interpret technical drawings
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment
A willingness to learn and develop within an engineering or fabrication setting Experience working within the steel, fabrication or manufacturing sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
