Supply Heroes are seeking a highly motivated and skilled SENCO Assistant to support the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) in delivering high‑quality provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is a key role within a school trust, ensuring that all children receive the right support at the right time.
About the Role
As SENCO Assistant, you will provide essential support in coordinating SEND provision across the school. You will contribute to assessments, interventions, documentation, communication with families, and evidence‑gathering for statutory processes such as EHCP requests.
Key Responsibilities

Support the SENCO with the day‑to‑day coordination of SEND provision

Assist in the development, maintenance, and review of provision maps and intervention logs

Collect, organise and maintain confidential SEND documentation and records
-
Support the SENCO in gathering, monitoring and collating evidence required for EHCP applications, including:

Assessments and progress data
-
Observations and intervention outcomes
-
Records of support strategies used
-
Reports from staff, parents/carers, and external agencies
-
Liaise professionally with teachers, support staff, parents and outside professionals
-
Assist in organising and scheduling SEND reviews, meetings and communication
-
Help promote inclusive practice across the school and ensure barriers to learning are identified and reduced
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
-
Has proven and substantial experience working with children with SEND
-
Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning - or anything relevant
-
Can demonstrate a strong understanding of SEND needs, approaches to support, and inclusive practice

Is confident in supporting assessment and intervention processes
-
Has excellent organisation, accuracy and attention to detail
-
Communicates clearly and professionally with a range of stakeholders
-
Works well as part of a supportive, child‑centred team
-
Is proactive, reflective, and willing to develop their expertise
