Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – KS1

A welcoming and well-established mainstream primary school in Uxbridge is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team as soon as possible. This role will primarily support pupils within Key Stage 1, with flexibility across year groups depending on the needs of the school.

About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons in line with the National Curriculum
• Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, particularly in phonics, reading, writing, and mathematics
• Assist in preparing learning resources and classroom materials
• Help monitor and track pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher
• Support pupils with additional learning needs to ensure they reach their full potential
• Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a safe, stimulating classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and senior leaders
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and carers
• Contribute to the wider life of the school community
What We’re Looking For
• Previous experience working in a primary school setting (KS1 experience desirable)
• A good understanding of the KS1 curriculum and phonics teaching
• Experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable)
• High expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A proactive, patient, and nurturing approach
• A team player who values collaboration
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
