About the Behaviour Support Assistant Role
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and smallâgroup support to students with behavioural needs
- Implementing behaviour intervention strategies and support plans
- Supporting teachers and pastoral teams in maintaining a positive, calm learning environment
- Using effective de-escalation techniques when needed
- Building trust and rapport with students to encourage positive behaviour and engagement
âï¸ Essential Requirements
To be considered for the Behaviour Support Assistant role, you must have:
- Previous experience working in a UK secondary school (this is essential)
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- A resilient, supportive, and professional approach
- A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning
