Assistant Management Accountant
Location: Chesterfield
Hours: 37.5 per week (8:45am–5:15pm, flexible start times available)
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 (DOE)
We’re supporting a well‑established Automotive Dealer Group in Chesterfield who are looking to appoint an Assistant Management Accountant. This is a specialist role focused on key balance sheet areas, complex reconciliations and high‑volume data work. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys accuracy, structure and getting into the detail.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, depreciation and annual asset audits across multiple sites
Complete quarterly VAT reconciliations and ensure accurate VAT processing through the ledger
Reconcile manufacturer/bonus income, monitor outstanding debts and support month‑end reporting
Handle service plan reconciliations, including refunds, top‑ups and complex data analysis
Investigate unreceived costs and vehicle cost accruals, liaising with sites to resolve queries
Support year‑end processes and assist with stock checks
What We’re Looking For
Previous accounts experience
Strong understanding of VAT and VAT returns
Excellent reconciliation experience, especially with large data sets
Advanced Excel skills
High attention to detail
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
Able to work independently while supporting the wider finance team
Working Hours & Flexibility
37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day)
Standard hours: 8:45am – 5:15pm with 1‑hour lunch
Flexible start times available (earliest 8am)
