The Role
We are working with a forward-thinking organisation within the renewable energy sector, seeking a proactive and highly organised HR Assistant to support their busy office in Burgess Hill. This permanent role sits within a small, professional team and works closely with the COO, contributing to a wide range of HR, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and administrative functions. Providing day‑to‑day HR administrative support to the COO
Maintaining accurate personnel files, HR documentation, and employee records in line with GDPR
Supporting recruitment processes, including drafting adverts, coordinating interviews, and candidate communication
Assisting with onboarding and offboarding, including right‑to‑work checks, references, inductions, and probation tracking
Assisting with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 documentation, audits, training records, and compliance
Updating HR policies and procedures and ensuring documentation is current
Supporting wider office administrative tasks as required
Monitoring and managing office consumable stock levels and replenishment
Providing general internal support to ensure smooth HR operations
Requirements
The successful HR Assistant will be a highly organised and detail‑focused individual with excellent communication skills and confidence handling sensitive information. Strong administration experience is essential, alongside good working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Previous HR exposure, understanding of onboarding processes, or familiarity with ISO standards would be highly desirable.
This role could suit someone who has worked as an HR Administrator, Office Coordinator, People Officer.
