A dynamic and nurturing independent Montessori school located in the heart of Islington is seeking a motivated and experienced School Administrator to play a pivotal role in supporting the smooth operation. The school is home to over 50 children between the ages of 2 and 6 years old, open term-time only.
This is the second most senior role after the Principal, so it is essential to have an extensive proven track record in a similar capacity. You will provide administrative support, primarily to management but also to the teaching team.
What you’ll be doing as School Administrator:
Your main duties of the role will vary from term to term to reflect the busy and changing nature of the school. The overall remit, however, will be to provide administrative support to ensure the smooth day to day running of the school.
Key responsibilities:
Answer and redirect phone calls and emails
Book visits and meetings and schedule events
Order office stationery and supplies
Order groceries & lunch on a weekly basis
Manage and update class lists
Manage and update allergy lists for staff and children
Manage and update contact lists for staff and children
Manage and update lists for extra classes (Ballet, French, Yoga and Computers)
Manage and update invoicing parents for fees.
Manage and update the Nursery Education Grant.
Liaise with extra class teachers.
Submit expense reports to accountant monthly
Manage petty cash, cheque payments and card payments
Handle queries from managers, teaching staff and parents
Update policies and procedures and ensure compliance with them
Book training
Maintain a filing system for data on customers and external partners
Prepare regular reports and presentations
Organize, store and print company documents as needed
Carrying out any other reasonable requests in line with the broad responsibilities of the role.
We’re looking for a School Administrator with:
Extensive experience in a similar role
Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanour
Excellent organisational skills with an eye for detail
Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Proficiency in Xero, and Famly would be desirable
A willingness to learn and take on new tasks
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Prior experience in an administrative role/ school is advantageous but not essential
An active DBS certificate is preferred
You will be working Monday-Thursday, 08:00-17:00 & Friday, 08:00-14:00.
