Warehouse Operations Supervisor
Location: Taunton, Somerset Salary: £25,194 – £26,325 (DOE) Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm Contract: Permanent/temp to perm Transport: Must drive – no public transport available to site
Interaction Recruitment are seeking a Warehouse Operations Supervisor to join a successful operation based on the outskirts of Taunton. This is a hands‑on role acting as the number two to the Warehouse Manager, supporting day‑to‑day operations while helping drive improvements, efficiency and team development.
About the Role
As the Warehouse Operations Supervisor, you will support the Warehouse Manager with daily operations and take full responsibility in their absence. You’ll help develop the team, champion Health & Food Safety and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Team Supervision: Lead, motivate and coordinate warehouse staff to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
Order Picking: Pick customer orders using a HHT device and prepare pallets for dispatch.
Goods In: Receive deliveries, record stock, and book items into the ERP system including BBE and batch codes.
Packing Orders: Prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring safe pallet stacking or secure packaging for courier shipments.
Pallet Wrapping: Wrap pallets securely for safe transit.
Daily Warehouse Operations: Allocate orders, prioritise stock booking, check orders and manage dispatch when covering for the Warehouse Manager.
Loading/Unloading: Use a forklift to unload inbound deliveries and assist with loading outbound pallets.
Delivery Despatch Management: Review and select the most cost‑effective and efficient delivery method for customer orders.
Van Deliveries: Provide cover for the delivery driver using the company electric van.
Process Improvement: Work with the Warehouse Manager to review and update warehouse processes and standards.
Training & Development: Train, mentor and support team members to improve performance and productivity.
Skills & Experience
Previous warehouse experience is essential.
Leadership experience is desirable, but we welcome applicants aspiring to step into leadership.
Forklift licence required.
Willingness to drive the company delivery van.
Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
High attention to detail with strong problem‑solving skills.
