As an Assistant Building Surveyor, you will support the delivery of a high-quality property service across domestic and commercial homes, ensuring buildings remain safe, compliant and well maintained.
What’s on offer: Salary: £30,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)
Working pattern: Hybrid – 1–2 days office-based, remainder on site
Location: Cambridge, with travel across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Hertfordshire (own vehicle required)

Career progression opportunitiesAssistant Building Surveyor key responsibilities include:
Carrying out stock condition, maintenance and pre/post inspections
Producing floor plans and technical reports
Diagnosing defects including damp and mould
Supporting major works and preparing specifications
Ensuring compliance with building regulations, CDM and safety standards (asbestos, fire, legionella)
Liaising with tenants, contractors and stakeholders
Participating in the on-call rota and supporting safeguarding proceduresThe successful Assistant Building Surveyor will have:
Ideally two years’ experience within social housing or a similar environment
Knowledge of construction, maintenance, building regulations and health & safety
Strong communication, problem-solving and IT skills
A proactive and organised approach
