Leader Education are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school based in Cramlington, Northumberland.
This is a rewarding role for someone passionate about supporting children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs, helping them to thrive both academically and emotionally.
This is a full-time role Monday-Thursday 8:30-16:30 and Friday 8:30-16:00
The Role:
Supporting pupils within the classroom to access learning
Working closely with teaching staff to promote positive behaviour
Providing targeted behaviour support to pupils who may present challenging behaviour
Supporting whole-school behaviour strategies and interventions
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
Helping to create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
Hold a DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (desirable)
A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour support
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to remain resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
A genuine passion for supporting pupils to achieve their potential
