What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll play a key role in supporting the Managers and Partner within our Business Services and Accounts department, managing your own portfolio of bookkeeping and accounting clients while contributing to wider team projects.
Your work will include:

Providing bookkeeping services and paying supplier bills

Preparing VAT returns and tax computations
-
Producing monthly and quarterly management accounts

Preparing year-end financial accounts from:
-
In-house bookkeeping records
-
Client records (including incomplete or disorganised sets)
-
Ensuring statutory returns are completed accurately and filed on time

Supporting managers and partners with workflow coordination
-
Assisting with ad hoc projects and special assignments
You’ll have real ownership of your workload, with the opportunity to build trusted relationships with clients.
About You
You’re someone who:

Has strong organisational and time management skills

Can plan ahead, anticipate bottlenecks and juggle priorities confidently

Knows when to escalate issues and when to take initiative

Has excellent attention to detail and produces neat, accurate work

Communicates clearly and professionally

Enjoys building positive working relationships

Is numerate, methodical and confident with written English
Experience in a bookkeeping or practice environment is preferred — but not essential. If you bring the right attitude, aptitude and willingness to learn, we’ll support your development.
Technical Skills
You’ll need to be:

IT literate

Confident using Microsoft Word and Excel

Familiar with (or keen to learn) major bookkeeping software such as:

Xero
-
Sage
-
QuickBooks
-
Iris
-
Hands-on experience with these systems is advantageous, but your willingness to develop and expand your knowledge is just as important.
