Milk Education are proud to be working in partnership with a specialist provision in Southend to recruit a compassionate and committed Therapeutic Learning Support Assistant (LSA).

About the Setting
Our partner school provides a safe base for pupils and prioritises the development of appropriate “trusted adult” relationships to support both emotional wellbeing and academic progress.
The school operates within a strong therapeutic framework and offers:
In-school counselling provision
Speech, language and communication support
Emotional wellbeing programmes
There are two fully qualified counsellors on site who deliver weekly 1:1 sessions for students, specialising in CBT, art therapy and play therapy. Additional sessions can be arranged where required. The provision has also recently extended counselling support to parents on a voluntary basis.
This setting places wellbeing at the heart of everything it does.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
Support students with social, emotional and mental health needs
Help maintain a calm, nurturing and structured learning environment
Build consistent and positive “trusted adult” relationships
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and therapeutic professionals
Support speech, language and communication strategies
This role would suit someone patient, resilient and passionate about supporting children within a therapeutic educational environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable but not essential)
Be calm, empathetic and adaptable
Understand the importance of emotional regulation in learning
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
Be confident supporting pupils with SEMH needs
