We are currently recruiting for a Machine Operator to join a busy manufacturing environment in Halstead. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating machinery safely and efficiently while maintaining quality standards and production targets.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:30
Friday 08:00 – 15:30
Role Accountabilities:

Operate machinery and equipment following safe practices for machining, sawing, punching, drilling and assembly operations

Verify machine and tooling settings to ensure accurate tolerances and correct machine function

Maintain productivity on routine and repetitive manufacturing jobs at prescribed rates

Carry out in-process checks to ensure all required tolerances and quality standards are met

Maintain cleanliness of machines and work area during and after operation

Complete all required safety procedures prior to and during operations

Communicate production related matters to supervisors
Responsibilities:

Operate machines, controls, deburr and inspect parts to ensure conformance to drawing specifications

Work from drawings, sketches and manuals to determine dimensions, tolerances and set-up requirements

Organise work area before and after processing, stacking finished parts correctly to avoid double handling

Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and make adjustments where capable

Report machine faults to supervisors

Liaise with management, production control and quality teams to resolve machining or quality issues
The Experience You Will Bring:

Previous machine operating or manufacturing experience preferred

Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications

Good attention to detail and quality standards

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong communication skills

Understanding of health & safety in a workshop environment
