Cleaning Operative - White Goods Recycling Sector
We are currently seeking a Cleaning Operative to join our team in the Recycling Sector.
Location : Normanton, WF6
Hours of work : Monday to Friday, 07.00am-16.00pm
Rate of Pay : £12.50 per hour
Temp to Perm after 8 weeks.
Role :
To clean, sanitise, and prepare white goods to a high standard for resale, rental, repair, recycling, or customer return, ensuring hygiene, safety, and quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities :

Deep clean internal and external surfaces of appliances

Remove grease, limescale, mould, food residue, and stains

Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and tools safely

Dismantle removable parts (shelves, drawers, filters) for thorough cleaning

Inspect appliances for visible damage or faults
-
Report defects to supervisors or technicians
-
Clean and finish appliances to a presentable standard
-
Ensure appliances are dry and ready for storage or delivery

Follow health & safety procedures at all times

Dispose of waste materials responsibly

Skills & Requirements :

Good attention to detail
-
Ability to follow cleaning procedures

Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and COSHH regulations

Physical stamina (lifting, bending, standing for long periods)

Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Basic understanding of electrical safety
Health & Safety :

Wear PPE (gloves, goggles, protective clothing)

Ensure appliances are disconnected from power before cleaning

Handle chemicals safely

Follow manual handling procedures
