BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting an Assistant Structural Revit Technician to join our Design segment of the business. You will be based out of our offices in Hemel Hempstead.
As an Assistant Structural Revit Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the coordination and delivery of structural design projects through the proficient use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) software and CAD tools. Reporting directly to the Senior Structural Revit Technician or BIM Implementation Manager on a day-to-day basis, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure accurate and compliant drawings are produced in line with project requirements and industry standards. Additionally, as you progress in your role and gain experience, you will ultimately also report to the Structural Associate, who will provide further guidance, mentorship, and oversight in your professional development journey. This hierarchical structure ensures that you receive comprehensive support and mentorship from multiple levels of experienced professionals within the organization, facilitating your growth and progression within the CAD team and the company as a whole.
Making Possible
• Assist in the coordination of BIM processes and compliance, ensuring alignment with project objectives and company standards.
• Support the development and implementation of CAD standards and procedures, contributing to the enhancement of drawing quality and efficiency.
• Work under the guidance of senior staff to produce schematic, general arrangement, and detailed drawings, adhering to relevant standards and protocols.
• Contribute to the mentoring and development of junior staff, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster their professional growth.
• Utilize Revit and AutoCAD software proficiently to create and update drawings, maintaining accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with design team members to ensure coordination and integration of structural elements within project deliverables.
• Communicate effectively with CAD technicians from other disciplines and external consultants, facilitating coordination and information exchange.
• Provide technical support and mentoring to junior members of the CAD team, assisting in their skill development and training.
• Ensure thorough checking and accuracy of deliverables, adhering to company QA procedures and document control protocols.
• Participate in knowledge sharing activities within the team and across locations, staying abreast of design trends and technological advancements.
• Attend in-house CAD courses and seminars, keeping up to date with industry developments and best practices.
• Assist in resource management by reporting to the management team on workload status and resource requirements.
• Review subcontractors' production drawings for technical compliance with design intent, providing feedback and recommendations as necessary.
• Contribute to tenders and bids by ensuring compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Assist in audits and reviews of projects, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with CAD standards and contribute to the development of CAD platforms, promoting consistency and efficiency in deliverables.

What do you bring to the role?
• Minimum HNC/HND in Civil Engineering accredited with ICE.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, engineers, and line managers.
• Proactive mindset, capable of adapting to changing situations and finding solutions when necessary.
• Keen interest in learning and advancing within the CAD team and the company as a whole.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team, managing time and workload effectively.
