Facilities Management Operative
Location: Maidstone
Join Us as a Facilities Management Operative
We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Facilities Management Operative to help keep one of our key client sites running smoothly. In this role, you'll be the face of the Facilities team on site-supporting employees and contractors, maintaining high standards, and ensuring the environment is safe, clean, and well‑managed.
If you're hands-on, solutions-focused, and enjoy ensuring everything is in great working order, this could be the perfect next step for you.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Facilities Management Operative, you will take ownership of day-to-day site operations, including:
Customer Service & Site Coordination
Acting as the first point of contact for staff queries and minor issues.
Liaising with contractors, organising site inductions, and supporting visitors.
Working closely with the wider FM and CBRE team to ensure all reactive tasks are completed efficiently.
Escalating building or service concerns to the client team or Regional Manager.
Facilities & Building Maintenance
Completing daily/weekly site inspections and raising any issues promptly.
Maintaining high cleanliness standards across kitchens, toilets, yard areas, and the site's CFS building.
Handling minor repair tasks such as tightening fixtures, adjusting monitor arms, and maintaining furniture.
Conducting minor electrical checks and tasks (e.g., replacing fuses, bulbs, or checking power supplies).
Handling basic plumbing tasks including isolating water supplies, unblocking toilets, and tightening waste fittings.
Adjusting HVAC settings when necessary.
Assisting with fire alarm tests and escorting subcontractors for PPM activities.
General Duties
Managing internal and external post.
Ensuring all tasks are logged on the CAFM system.
Supporting any reasonable task within your competency during working hours.
What We're Looking For
We'd love to hear from you if you:
Are professional, personable, and take pride in your appearance.
Have a proactive, dynamic approach to problem-solving.
Enjoy working hands-on and are confident handling minor repairs and FM tasks.
Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively.
Are comfortable working independently while being part of a wider team. Experience in facilities, maintenance, or a similar hands-on role is beneficial, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
