We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work in one of our mainstream primary schools based in South Leeds. This is a long term role to start after Easter (possibly sooner!) until the end of the academic year. You will be supporting a pupil in KS2 with SEMH. Lovely young boy who just needs extra support.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping the pupil achieve his full potential-both academically and personally. You will work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and other professionals to provide tailored support, ensuring learners feel confident, included, safe, and able to succeed.
Responsibilities of a Learning Support Assistant:
Provide 1to1 support to a pupil in KS2 with SEND needs
Promote independence, resilience, and confidence in the classroom and beyond
Support pupils with developing social,communication and life skills
Work collaboratively with staff to adapt resources and approaches to individual needs
Encourage a positive, safe, and inclusive environment
Support in the classroom wherever there is a needRequirements:
Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar SEND role is desirable
A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach
Understanding of additional needs such as SEMH and learning difficulties
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one
