We are currently recruiting for A Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) positions at a friendly, well-equipped practice.
🕒 Working Hours
-
Approximately 40 hours per week
-
Preferably 4 days per week
-
9:00am – 7:00pm shifts
-
30-minute unpaid lunch break
🩺 Veterinary Nurse Responsibilities (Senior Nurse & RVN Roles)
-
Care of admitted patients and monitoring during and post-surgery
-
Assisting veterinary surgeons during procedures
-
Taking blood samples and placing intravenous catheters
-
Supporting minor procedures (e.g. dental descaling or areas of special interest)
-
Running and managing nursing clinics
-
Laboratory duties
-
Laundry duties including uniforms, bedding, and autoclaving instruments
-
Reception duties (up to 5 hours per week)
-
Accurate record keeping, including inpatient forms, anaesthetic records, and insurance documentation
🐶 Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) Responsibilities
The VCA role is focused primarily on animal care and practice support, including:

Assisting nurses with patient restraint and recovery
-
Cleaning, maintaining hygiene standards, and general tidiness
-
Laundry duties
-
Laboratory support (sorting samples, running bloods)

Supporting the nursing team as required

Some reception duties
