Manpower is recruiting on behalf of our public sector client for Patient Catering Assistants.
This is a patient facing role within a busy hospital ward environment where you will support the delivery of meals and refreshments to patients while maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety and cleanliness.
The ideal candidate will have previous health care experience and or catering experience and be confident working in a patient facing ward environment supporting patient care and food service delivery.
Location: Merthyr Tydfil
Contract: Temporary for 3 months
Start date: ASAP
Pay rate: £12.21 - £12.73 with enhanced rates on the weekends
Hours of work: You will be required to work shifts as per the fortnightly rota. Shifts are 7.30 am - 6.30 pm. Week 1 you will work 3 shifts, any day, Monday to Sunday. Week 2 you will work 4 shifts, any day, Monday to Sunday.
Main Duties:
Collect and collate patient menu choices including any special dietary requirements
Prepare patient trays with cutlery and condiments and distribute meals to patients
Regeneration of meals in line with food safety procedures
Check and record food and fridge temperatures to ensure compliance with food safety standards
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of all catering areas and equipment at all times
Dispose of waste appropriately and record wastage
Report any issues or concerns to the kitchen or nursing team promptlyRequirements
Standard DBS required (Manpower pays for the cost of this)
Valid Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate essential (Manpower can support with this)
Comfortable working in a patient facing hospital environment
Previous catering experience in a healthcare or retail setting
