Job Title: Finance Assistant
Location: Warrington (Office-Based)
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
We’re looking for a hands-on Finance Assistant to join a growing and well-invested business in Warrington, supporting the Financial Controller with the day-to-day running of the finance function.
This Finance Assistant opportunity is ideal for someone with solid practical finance experience who enjoys being close to the detail, takes ownership of their work, and wants to continue developing their career in a supportive and fast-moving environment.
You’ll play an important part in keeping the finance operation running smoothly, from transactional processing through to month-end support, while helping maintain accuracy and strong financial controls across the business.
The Role
As Finance Assistant, support the Financial Controller with daily finance operations
Process and maintain accurate sales and purchase ledgers
As the Finance Assistant, manage sales and purchase invoicing and supplier statements
Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
Carry out credit control and chase overdue accounts
Process staff expenses and reimbursements
Support weekly and monthly payroll processing
Assist with VAT returns and related tax reporting
Help prepare month-end finance information and reports
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Handle supplier, customer, and internal finance queries
Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes and controlsWhat We’re Looking For
Experience in a hands-on finance role such as Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper, Finance Officer, or similar
Confident with invoicing, ledgers, bank reconciliations, and credit control
Exposure to payroll and VAT processes is desirable
Good working knowledge of Excel and accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Well organised and able to manage multiple deadlines
Comfortable communicating with internal teams and external contacts
AAT qualified or qualified by experienceWhat’s On Offer
