Learning Support Assistant – 1:1 Autism Support (Year 3)
Location: Brent, North West London

We are working closely with a welcoming primary school in Brent, North West London who are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 3 with additional needs, including Autism.
This is a rewarding, long-term opportunity for a calm, patient and proactive support professional who is confident supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom.
The Role:
You will be supporting a verbal pupil with Autism, helping them to access learning and regulate throughout the school day. The role will include:

Providing 1:1 in-class support to help the pupil engage with lessons

Supporting with emotional regulation and transitions throughout the day

Assisting during break and lunch times to support social interaction and routines

Helping to adapt learning tasks to meet individual needs

Using a calm, consistent and positive approach when the pupil becomes deregulated

Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to implement strategies
The Ideal Candidate:

Experience supporting pupils with Autism and additional needs
-
Calm, patient and emotionally resilient
-
Confident supporting emotional regulation and behaviour in a positive way
-
Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils

Previous experience in a primary school or SEN setting is highly desirable
