We are looking for enthusiastic and organised individuals to join a busy Student Services team on a temporary basis. These roles are full‑time (37 hours, Monday–Friday) and will involve working across two college sites, with occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekend support. There will be an opportunity to apply for a permanent post once you have started.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll play a key part in supporting learners throughout their college journey, including:

Offering advice, guidance, and signposting on wellbeing, welfare, finance, and course-related queries

Providing a professional, confidential front‑of‑house service for students, staff, and visitors

Supporting recruitment, admissions, and enrolment processes, including accurate data entry

Handling all administration linked to student finance (EMA, WGLG, Financial Contingency Fund)

Liaising with internal teams to ensure students receive the right support at the right time

Maintaining and updating digital records and systems

Assisting with transition, retention, induction, and Higher Education admissions

Responding to changes in financial/welfare support to ensure students receive up‑to‑date information

Promoting a bilingual service

Supporting college events during the day and evening when required
What we’re looking for
-
Level 2 qualification (NVQ or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (desirable)

Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE or equivalent)

Confident IT skills (MS Office, data entry)

Experience in a customer‑facing role

Strong communication, organisation, and people skills

Basic Welsh language skills would be an advantage
Compliance
All candidates must complete full compliance checks prior to starting, including references, an Enhanced DBS, and registration with the EWC as a Further Education Support Worker.
