Major Recruitment are looking for a Yard Operative to join our client's busy site based in Huddersfield. This is a temporary to permanent position, offering long-term progression and development for the right candidate.
Key Details:
Location: Huddersfield
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm
Every second Saturday: Paid at x1.5 overtime rateRole Responsibilities:
Loading and unloading timber and associated materials safely and efficiently.
Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck to move and stack materials.
Driving between the yard and warehouse (across public roads) to transport stock.
Keeping the yard and warehouse areas clean, safe, and well organised.
Supporting with stock control, order preparation, and general yard duties.
Interacting with customers on site, providing assistance, and delivering excellent service when requiredCandidate Requirements:
Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence - essential.
Full UK Driving Licence - essential.
Previous experience in a yard, timber, or trade environment is preferred.
Reliable, safety-conscious, and physically capable of manual handling.Additional Information:
After successfully completing a 12-week temporary period, the successful candidate will be taken on permanently and provided with additional Combi and Side Loader training to support career development.
