Finance Administrator
We are seeking an experienced Finance Administrator for a temporary to permanent contract within a SEN school based in Knowsley.
Working closely with the Finance Manager/ Business Manage, the postholder will provide hands‑on support across the full range of day‑to‑day finance operations. The role requires someone confident, adaptable, and able to step into both finance assistant duties and selected elements of the Finance Manager's routine workload. Strong working knowledge of Arbor MIS System.

The School:
A Pupil Referral Unit situated inn the borough of Knowsley on Merseyside, Providing a quality educational experience for students who have or are experiencing difficulties in a mainstream setting due to medical, social, emotional or behavioural needs. Support young people to develop alternative strategies to improve their resilience and confidence through a personalised curriculum, delivered by dedicated, experienced and qualified staff.
General Duties:
Experience of Arbor MIS system
Oversee the purchase order lifecycle from requisition to delivery, liaising with staff to ensure financial regulations are met
Liaise effectively with suppliers when sourcing quotations to evidence best value purchasing
Manage the purchase invoice payment process, ensuring suppliers are paid in line with their payment terms
Oversee the school's income, ensuring that banking is kept up to date and sales invoices are raised as required and income recorded accurately
Maintain the school's financial information system
Undertake regular reconciliations and process all Local Authority financial returns
Oversee the petty cash process, ensuring timely reimbursements
Maintain a confidential filing system (manual and electronic) to ensure that accurate up to date information is available
Support the School Business Manager to ensure that school operations run smoothly
Be responsible for delivering an exceptional front of house service, ensuring visitors and visiting professionals receive an outstanding experience whilst visiting the school.Conditions of Service:
Hours - 8 hours per day
Length of contract - Temporary to Permanent
Start date - 23rd February 2026
Hourly salary, between £15-£18 per hour, depending on experience.

This role is deemed to be one of working in regulated activity, meaning that the post-holder may expect to come into unsupervised contact with children and young people frequently in the discharge of their duties on-site. As such, the expectations of conduct, required of all adults working at the School, apply to this position, as does a full Safer-Recruitment vetting process of any appointee. A key responsibility of all adults working within the School is that of ensuring the effective safeguarding of all children and young people, through adherence to the School's policies; full-training is given.
