Job Title: Payroll Administrator
Salary: £30,000 – £34,000
Location: Stockport (Office based initially with some flex thereafter)
Type: Permanent
JGA and I have the pleasure of partnering with a organisation on the hiring of a Payroll Administrator. This role plays a key part in delivering accurate, compliant, and timely payroll while supporting employees and working closely with HR and Finance teams.
Responsibilities:
Process monthly payroll accurately for a large PAYE workforce
Calculate salaries, overtime, bonuses, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP)
Ensure correct application of deductions including PAYE, NI, pensions, and student loans
Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements, including RTI submissions
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation, tax codes, minimum wage, and auto-enrolment
Maintain accurate payroll records for audit and reporting purposes
Produce payslips, P45s, P60s, and P11Ds
Act as the first point of contact for payroll-related queries
Liaise with HMRC, pension providers, and internal stakeholders
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience processing UK payroll (end to end)
Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and HMRC guidelines
Experience using payroll systems (e.g. IRIS Payrite or similar)
High attention to detail and strong numerical skills
Ability to manage confidential information with integrity
Clear and professional communication skills
