About the Role
JORECRUITMENT is recruiting Pastoral Support Staff to work with schools and academies, supporting pupils’ wellbeing, behaviour and engagement with learning.
These roles focus on emotional, behavioural and social support, working alongside teaching and safeguarding teams.
Key Responsibilities

Provide pastoral and emotional support to pupils

Support behaviour interventions and engagement strategies

Work with vulnerable pupils and those with additional needs

Liaise with teaching, SEN and safeguarding staff

Maintain accurate records and reports
Requirements
-
Experience working with children or young people
-
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
-
Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly

Understanding of safeguarding and child protection

Ability to follow school policies and procedures
Desirable
-
Experience in pastoral, youth work, mentoring or care settings

Training in behaviour support, SEMH or trauma-informed practice (SEMH stands for Social, Emotional, and Mental Health, a broad term used in education and support for children and young people with difficulties managing their emotions, behaviour, and relationships, often falling under Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). These challenges can include anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trouble forming friendships, or disruptive behaviour, impacting their ability to learn and function in school and life, requiring tailored support. )
