Location: The Grange Therapeutic School, Knossington, Oakham LE15 8LY
Salary: £22,160.62 per annum (£13.25 per hour) (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Rota: Monday 8.30am – 4.30pm, Tuesday to Friday 8.30am – 4.00pm
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

About the Role
Join The Grange Therapeutic School, part of Acorn Education, and make a real difference in the lives of children and young people. Based in a beautiful Victorian country house in Leicestershire, our specialist SEMH provision supports pupils’ educational, social, and emotional development. As a Student Support Mentor, you will work closely with our pupils, both inside and outside the classroom, helping them achieve their full potential in a safe, nurturing, and personalised environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH, ASD, and ADHD needs
Assist teachers in delivering lessons and activities that meet individual learning needs
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and confidence
Implement and contribute to individualised plans and strategies, including behaviour support plans
Supervise and mentor pupils during classroom activities, break times, and outdoor learning experiences
Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive environment for all pupils
Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider multi-disciplinary team

About You
You will have:
GCSE grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Experience working with children in an educational, care, or support setting (highly desirable)
A commitment to learning, with full training and ongoing professional development provided
