Leader Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Support Assistant to work with children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and challenging behaviour at a school in Cramlington, Northumberland. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey by providing individualised support and helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Working Hours: Monday–Friday: 8:30am – 3:00pm
The Role:
Providing 1:1 support to a child with SEND, ensuring their safety and engagement in learning
Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour in line with school behaviour policies
Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and learning activities
Encouraging social, emotional, and academic development
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with children with SEND and challenging behaviour (desirable but not essential)
Be patient, resilient, and adaptable
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Hold a DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
Be committed to helping children reach their full potential
