Our public sector client are looking for a Exchequer Services Assistant to join them on a temporary basis.
Location – Coalville, Leicestershire
Flexible, hybrid working available
Ideally 1-2 days in the office per week (Coalville)
Pay Rate - £13.29ph to £13.74ph
Job Purpose
To support the Exchequer Section in income collection, payments, payroll processing, and reconciliation services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure all income is accurately recorded, allocated, and reconciled.

Assist with monthly reconciliations, including bank accounts, payroll, creditors, debtors, and control accounts.

Support payroll preparation and monthly data input.

Assist with the administration of sundry debtors and the e-purchasing system.

Respond to internal and external queries relating to Exchequer Services.

Provide cover and support during busy periods or staff absences.

Participate in performance appraisal and development processes.

Undertake additional duties and support other teams as required by management.
Experience Required
-
Around 2 years’ experience in a payments, income, or financial administration environment.

Essential experience in bank reconciliations and effective accounting reconciliations.

Experience using financial systems.

Experience processing supplier payments and reconciling high volumes of income.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (or equivalent)
