Your Part in the Performance
As a Warehouse Operative, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our Clifton Moor distribution centre in York. You’ll work across all areas of the warehouse, from goods-in through to despatch and stock rotation, supporting the efficient movement of stock.
This is a permanent, hands-on role in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment. You’ll be expected to work accurately and safely as part of an established team, helping to ensure customer orders are delivered on time and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving, checking, and storing incoming stock
Picking, packing, and labelling customer orders accurately
Preparing orders for despatch to customers worldwide
Loading and unloading vehicles and containers
Operating Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) where required
Supporting stock checks and replenishment activities
Using warehouse systems to resolve stock discrepancies
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
Working collaboratively within a professional warehouse team
Following all Health & Safety procedures and reporting hazards
Training
Training will be provided for all warehouse systems and processes.
What We’re Looking For
This role requires previous warehouse experience within a warehouse or distribution environment. We are looking for individuals who understand warehouse operations and can contribute effectively from day one.
Essential / Strongly Preferred
Proven warehouse experience, ideally within a fast-paced or high-volume environment
Experience using Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE)
A strong understanding of warehouse health & safety practices
You will also
Be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic
Work well as part of a team and communicate clearly
Have excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
Be confident using warehouse technology, tablets, and systems
Have good numeracy, literacy, and basic IT skills
Be physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
Working Hours
This role will require the flexibility to work evenings and weekends, 40 hours per week for 5 out of the 7 days. The shifts rotate on a weekly basis so please ensure you’re able to commit to working both shift patterns. During our busy Christmas peak season, there may be a requirement to work some night shifts.
Early Shift: 06:00 – 14:30 Monday to Friday + Saturday 08:30 – 17:00 (you will be required to work a total of 5 out of the 7 days)
Late Shift: 13:30 – 22:00 Monday to Friday + Sunday 08:30 – 17:00 (you will be required to work a total of 5 out of the 7 days)
