Are seeking a Non food manufacturing Service Operator on their rotating day/night shift from a previous manufacturing background, this will be ongoing fulltime work.
Job Role: Manufacturing Service Operative - Rotational Shifts
Location: Norwich
Pay rate: £14.01 p/hr
Rolling shift pattern: 2 days 06.00 – 18.00 pm and then 2 nights 18.00 – 06.00 am, then 4 days off. So it is 4 x 12 hour shifts on a rolling 4 day pattern
The shift patterns are as per the below example

Wednesday (phone number removed) – 18.00
Thursday 15.1.2026 – 06.00 – 18.00
Friday 16.1.2026 – 18.00 – 06.00
Saturday 17.1.2026 – 18.00 – 06.00
Then 4 days off
Thursday 22.1.2026 – 06.00 – 18.00
Friday 23.1.2026 – 06.00 – 18.00
Saturday 24.1.2026 – 18.00 – 06.00
Sunday 25.1.2026 – 18.00 – 06.00
Then 4 days off and starting again on Friday 30.1.2026
Initially on a three month probation with the likelyhood of longer term roles becoming available in this timeframe. The roles are paid weekly, and the pay rate is £14.01 per hour, with training given, some previous manufacturing/production experience is required though.
To be responsible for running the Production Machines in a safe manner and in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure that the machines are continually operating correctly and achieving optimum performance in terms of quality and output.
To start and stop machines as required in a safe manner and attend to minor breakdowns on machinery escalating issues where appropriate to Setters or Maintenance personnel.
1) Packing, Labelling, and Palletising of product in line with the SOPs relating to specific lines and products.
2) Carrying out quality checks; involving hourly inspection of the product, quarantining and back checking components and completing associated documentation. Where there is poor quality found; restarting production to the correct standards.
3) Running machinery and attending to remedial line stoppages, minimising downtime throughout the shift.
4) Safely starting and stopping injection moulding machines and auxiliary assembly equipment as per SOPs when required.
5) Carry out Barrel Purges on injection moulding machines
6) Responding to emergency oil and water leaks/bursts on machinery ensuring the appropriate procedure is followed for stopping the machine depending on the severity of the leak before informing a Setter or member of the Maintenance Team and assisting with the clean-up.
7) Collecting materials and continually fill the hoppers throughout the shift as required.
8) Emptying waste bins and recycling and weighing scrap.
9) General housekeeping activities and ensuring the work area is kept clean and tidy.
10) Completing log books with BOM (Bill of Materials) details.
11) Recording production in the respective log books and for new works orders on the new sheet.
12) Recording traceability information in log books.
13) Recorded any machine issues in the log books.
14) Pass any comments related to the efficiency of the line on to the on-coming shift.
15) Ensuring all stoppages and new orders are recorded on BARCO.
16) Providing stand in relief cover for other Process or Service Operators for tea and meal breaks.
17) Carry out resort and box making activities when instructed
18) Any other responsible duties as required by the Team Leader that falls within the scope of this role and the department.
