Temporary Payments / Payroll Administrator - Immediate Start
Think Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be supporting this brilliant business once again as they look to bring in immediate temporary support within their Payments team.
This is an immediate start temporary role, ideal for someone with experience in payroll administration, timesheets, invoicing, or payment processing, who can hit the ground running and provide short-term cover during a busy period.
The role
You'll be joining a friendly, organised, and motivated Payments team, supporting the accurate and timely processing of payments for subcontractors and employees. You'll have responsibility for your own workload, with support from the Payments Manager throughout the assignment.
Key responsibilities
Processing subcontractor and employee timesheets
Supporting payroll and payment runs
Managing invoicing in line with agreed terms
Handling payment queries, amendments, and basic tax-related questions
Discussing and resolving discrepancies confidently
Completing reconciliations and maintaining accurate records
Updating agencies and stakeholders with relevant payment information
Supporting FPS submissions in line with RTI requirements
Assisting with debt recovery processes where required
General finance administration and team support
What we're looking for
This role would suit someone who already has some hands-on experience in a finance or payroll environment and is comfortable stepping into a busy role at short notice.
We're keen to hear from candidates who:
Have experience handling timesheets, payroll admin, invoicing, or payments
Are confident dealing with payment queries
Can prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
Have good Excel and general admin skills
(Backgrounds could include payroll administration, finance admin, accounts assistant, payments admin, or high-volume query handling.)

Likely duration: short-term cover (with potential to extend)
Full-time, office-based
Monday - Friday | 9:00 - 17:30
Salary equivalent: £24,000 - £25,275 (paid hourly)
